We had a very successful first day of school! I was really dreading it - the unknown. How would it be for him? Would he be scared or sad? Would little brothers be ok with him "missing"? But everything is going great for everyone and I'm so happy about it! I really wanted school to be something positive for L and it's seems like it will be exactly that!

My most favorite thing - we've started the -ber months!!! My most favorite time of the year! Everything about September 1 - the new year is wonderful. I'm so glad we're here again!
I was able to capture on of my favorite moments this week.
Look at all three of my boys playing together. All. the. feels. My heart is mush ;)
We made it! (Who are we kidding?? I made it!) We had a very successful first day of school. There were no tears from L and I held it together until I walked out of his class. And even then only teared up a little. :)
We started the morning with a special first day of school breakfast. Liam picked donuts so that is what we had! I added in some yogurt and milk so his breakfast had some nutritional value.
1 out of 2 looking is good enough, right?!

After breakfast it was time to get ready and take the 1st day of school pictures.
Then we were off to school! We were a few minutes early (Mark that on the calendar - 'cause that's not happening again!) so time for more photos but with mommy and daddy this time!
When we got in the classroom we left him with smiles - and there were smiles when I picked him up too. Nothing else can make this mommy heart happier!
It's Wednesday so let's see what I've been up too!
What We're Eating This Week
School starts next week so I'm trying to get a few new things in our rotation before we're on more of a routine. Of course I turned to some of my favorite bloggers for great ideas!

What I'm Reminiscing About
L starts Pre-K next Tuesday. Derek rolls his eyes at me every time I get sad. He's going 2 days a week. He says "it's hardly school". I don't care. My baby will be away from me in the big wide world 2 days a week. I've decided 4 1/2 years its not long enough for you to be a "baby". Why must they grow up so fast?? L is a smart, silly, passionate little guy. He is SUPER type A and must have everything in order. I am going to miss him terribly {even if it's only 2 days a week}
What I've Been Up To
Really we have just been getting ready for school. We have gotten a few new clothes, new shoes and a fresh haircut.
What I'm Dreading
Next Tuesday morning. See above. I promise to be excited and happy in front of him but I'm defiantly dreading dropping him off. So many emotions.
{I feel I need to put it out there that my brain really does know that he will have a wonderful year, he is ready, he is going to have so much fun and grow so much. And I am excited for him. My heart though... different story}

I'm SO SO excited! I've decided it's time to have a photography website! I'm just starting so I don't have anything to show yet. Stay tuned!
What I'm Excited About
The temps here in Texas are finally *starting* to come down to a more humane temperature. Which means fall is coming! The -ber months!! My most favorite time of the year!!! From September 1 thru New Year's Eve there is not one thing I do not love.

Derek and I just started watching HBO's "True Detective". We are only 2 episodes into the first season but I'm LOVING it so far!
What I'm Listening To
I'm not a fan of country music really but I saw Sam Hunt on The Tonight Show a couple of weeks ago and I can not get his song out of my head! Super fun!
What I'm Wearing
I recently bought this shirt and I'm loving it! It's defiantly going to be a staple in my fall wardrobe!
What I'm doing this weekend
We don't have any big plans yet which probably means we will have a quiet weekend. Since soccer starts next week and then we'll have soccer games every Saturday morning for many weeks, a quiet weekend is just what we need.
What I'm looking Forward to Next Month
The start of September starts my favorite time of year. I love everything about fall and then the holidays. I'm looking forward to getting it all started!
My little sunshine baby just turned 9 months old! I think I say how I can't believe how fast the boys are growing up all the time but I really feel that way! HOW can he be 9 months old already???
All three boys have weighed in at almost the same weight and length at 9 months. It's amazing how they are following the same pattern. It's like it's genetic or something. ;) O is a whopping 24 pounds. I know - that's a ton. But really these boys are just made of concrete. O is a very lite eater. You'll just have to believe me.
A few things about Mr. O at 9 months.
He just started crawling! I now have all 3 mobile. Pray for me.
He continues to be the best baby! I seriously won the baby lottery. Never fussy and always happy!
He loves his brothers. He fills with excitement anytime they happen to play near him or give him attention. I know he can't wait to really play with them.
He's an excellent sleeper! He is still napping three times and day and all night! {I told you I won the baby lottery!}
We had an observably uneventful weekend. Saturday I didn't even get out of pajamas. The weekends when we slow down and take the time to relax and recharge are needed! L starts Pre-K in a few weeks and about the same time fall soccer will in full swing. I'm glad we took the this weekend to unwind while we had it!

This week started with a trip to the splash pad. It's been super duper hot here so this fun morning was just what we needed! I think the boys would say this is a favorite!
I've been working on first day of school crafts and projects. One of the things I've been working on is for L's teacher's beginning of the year gift. It will include these cookies. They are a favorite around here!
Hello! Welcome to my new little corner of the internet. I am a wife and a mommy to three little boys. Which also makes me everything else in the world. A cook, designer, nurse, accountant, personal assistant,etc.... Moms you understand right?!
So since this is my first post here are a few facts about me:
I am now a stay at home mom but that is a recent thing in my life. I spent 8 years as a first grade teacher.
I love love love photography. I'm trying to get better everyday.
I like to call myself a "geographical mutt". I have lived in Texas for over 10 years now but I grew up in the Midwest. I have also spent a lot of time on the East Coast and have some family from there. My husband is from the South so I feel like they're my people too.
I strive to be positive about everything everyday. NO it doesn't always work but I try.
I love to be creative. It makes me feel like everything is balanced and right in the world when I'm creating.
So here's hoping I can keep up with this blogging thing! Cheers!
